Dr. Spain has been in higher education and diversity for more than thirty years and is the CEO of Spain’s Premier Educational Consulting Services (SPECS). She offers a wide range of training that includes new business startups, educational development, and grant writing services. Her commitment is to elevate underrepresented youth by providing the motivation to achieve success. She has also served as an adjunct faculty with two universities and has worked in the public school system. She prides herself in providing programs and services that promote academic excellence, student advocacy, leadership through advising, critical thinking, intercultural education, diversity, equity and inclusion, and entrepreneurship. As a result, she published several newsletters.
Dr. Spain holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Limestone College, an MBA from Aurora University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education Administration from the University of Phoenix. Her dissertation is titled Phenomenological Study: Retention of First-Generation African American College Students in Georgia. Her has career allowed for leadership positions in several major colleges and universities. In each of her roles, she demonstrated her ability to provide services to students, peers, and community members that were unparalleled and enhanced her department goals and the institution. Dr. Spain has received numerous awards for her commitment and service towards academic excellence and leadership. She is a member of several professional organizations: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI), The National Advancement for the Association of Colored People (NAACP), Atlanta Black Entrepreneurs & Startup Founders, The Negro Council of Women, and the National Writers Association. She has presented at various conferences, institutions of higher education, held workshops for nonprofit organizations and served on several Board of Directors, and partnered with families associated with Homeschoolers
Dr. Spain is very passionate about her role as entrepreneur and has a thriving interest in helping others achieve their goals. Her commitment to excellence and support for her community is relentless. Currently, she resides in Covington, GA, and has one daughter. Her special interest is theater and gardening.
